Sorcery and Mind control

There is a spell that enables the user to control the mind of the target by (if I remember rightly...) suspending free thought and replacing it with the free thought of the magic user (the theory always seemed a tad vague to me). Anyway this matrix allows for control of a free mind by maintaining the matrix and supply the energy for the link by the caster. It is a tad top heavy for partitioning for a spell (being the amount of concentration required vs the energy required), as the mind of the target is fighting to regain control.

There is however an exception (and another reason why the Wizards Battle should not be entered into lightly...) to this assumption. There exists a random permutation to the inherited gift. Some of those who are born with the ability are also born with a further ability to easily control minds. These practitioners are usually drawn to a particular tradition called Sorcery (Mage lexicon: Puppeteer). Their use of the gift is less about understanding and more about feel. They do not actively engage in the planning and shaping of spells to better understand the limits of their magic but instead just meld and play with the "stuff" feeling their way through until they get the desired result. This can have ramifications dire if attempted by anybody else (blowing oneself up can be so passé), but for some reason these magic users don't have that problem. While this seems like an amazing feat (and believe me it is, I'd love to be able to pull off spell effects without knowing the spell construction) it is not without limitation. Because they fail to truly understand the construction behind they're magic, spell effects take more time to pull off. Sometimes the simplest cantrip instead of taking a breath to construct and execute. Can take up to five minutes.

The methodology for the enscorcelment is only conjecture amongst Wizards and some Mages as this tradition is rather secretive about its methods. But from what we've been able to glean through observation of this craft is something similar to the wizards Battle taking place during the Sorcerers penultimate act. And if this is how they do what they do, a threat indeed to the unwary they are.
